“Superb cosy and inviting little hotel in beautiful Ollantaytambo”
A very welcoming and friendly little hotel. Staff super friendly, rooms very well cleaned and breakfast excellent. Our room was gorgeous - exposed beams and a nice little seating area. The location was excellent - about 200m stroll down to the main square. Would definitely come back!

“Nice place to stay, great location and friendly staff”
Catty and her crew at Dona Cata are great. The rooms are tidy and well appointed. The water is hot and the wi-fi is good. The breakfast is ample including fruit along with the typical eggs, bread, marmalade and coffee. The location is close to some nice cafes, the ruins and main plaza but tucked away and thereby buffered a bit from the bustle of the city. Ollantaytambo is one of the more traditional main towns of the Sacred Valley and a great stop in its own right in route to Machu Picchu. Highly recommended!!!

"I LOVE THIS PLACE. Great location and wonderful staff"
The staff was amazing. Responded quickly to all my emails. Set up a taxi pick up for us from Cusco that stopped at 4 of the main sights in the Sacred Valley along the way with an amazing driver (David). They were always extremely friendly and gave great recommendations on where to go. They even bagged up breakfast for us when we had to leave earlier than the breakfast hours! Room itself was clean and comfortable. Location of the hotel was two blocks away from the main square and one block from the fortress. Many restaurants and shops all around.
No elevator but that's to be expected of a small hotel. However it is just one floor up and staff is more than a willing to help.
The overall experience was one of the best of anywhere I have stayed.
"Saved us during Perutrail strike"
When we were guests in July, the rail went on strike and we could not reach Machu Picchu. Because there were protesters blocking the highways, we were basically marooned in Ollantaytambo. The owner went way out of his way to get us through to Cusco so we could continue our trip. Above and beyond. Also, it's a lovely, convenient place to stay. With a good breakfast

"Amazing place, highly recommend"
I have stayed at La Casa del Abuelo (now Doña Cata) for two nights and since sleeping in dorm rooms for most of my 2 months travels decided to get a double bed to get a proper rest rest before hiking up to Machu Picchu. It was definitely the right choice. The bed was very comfortable and although the hotel is very close to the train station and the ruins it is located in a quiet street and I had two really good night sleeps. The staff is very helpful regarding any questions a solo female traveler might have and breakfast was great too! I will definitely stay here again and recommend highly!

"Friendly owner and staff, comfortable and clean rooms."
Great place to stay. We stayed here three nights. The owner is very friendly and kind. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Great location--we had a beautiful view of the Ollantaytambo ruins outside our window. I would definitely stay here again!

My partner and I stayed at La Casa del Abuelo (now Doña Cata) for 2 nights before our trek to Machu Picchu. From the moment we arrived, Catty was attentive and helpful. We were instantly made to feel welcome, and received a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. Throughout our stay, Catty made recommendations and helped us organise a tour of the local sites. The hotel is close to the main plaza, making it walkable to local restaurants and markets. We had a comfortable and relaxing stay with no complaints- thanks again Catty!

BEST hotel in town and on a budget!
The staff was very friendly and no to mention, breakfast included! They let us keep our baggage for an extra day at no charge. The location is great, near the Inca ruins. Also, if you are up to a good coffee, La Casa del Abuelo coffee is the best in town! We strongly recommend this hotel!!
“Great Inn for Solo Traveler at Ollantaytambo”
I gave my thumb up for this small inn because of its great staff, location, and high price/value ratio. I stayed at this inn as a solo backpacker on July for two days. My room was small but clean and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best among many hotels/inns I stayed in Peru during three weeks, drinks, bread, fruit, choice of your egg....they brought my breakfast cappuccino from the coffee shop next door :) . On my early morning to Machu Picchu, they prepared a bag of breakfast for me to catch the train- truly reflected their care for the guest. The inn is just about 200 yards from the famous tambo and few minutes to the town square. The front desk staff (sorry I forgot her name) was very friendly and gave detailed info and recommendation on the local sightseeing. Also, the room price is very reasonable comparing to the other hotels in the town. I am strongly recommending this inn.

"A quiet place to get some rest"
We were greeted by Catty the owner with a smile and a kind welcome to her place “La Casa Del Abuelo” (now Doña Cata) Our room was the perfect size for the two of us, had a private bathroom, reading lamps, a small table, and a tiny balcony that faced out to a quiet road. It was clean, the mattress was comfortable and it was truly a place where we could rest up before heading to Machu Picchu! Breakfast was included and we had fruit, bread with jam and butter and a choice of scrambled eggs or a fried egg. There was coffee and tea as well. It’s located not too far from the main square in a quiet corner away from all the noise. It’s close to Hearts Coffee Shop and Sunshine Cafe where we enjoyed our lunch and coffee time! The owner speaks great English and gave us some advice on what to see in Ollantaytambo!
"Excellent Front desk and Great Location"
I was on my way back from Machu Picchu and staying for a night at Ollantaytambo. I pre-booked this hotel in advance prior to my trip to Peru. As I plan on seeing a few more historic town before heading back to Cusco. I asked the front desk if she can recommend the places to visit and also asked about the transportation to go to these places on the way from Ollantaytambo to Cusco. The girl working at the front desk speaks English very well and she highlighted few of the well known places to visit between Ollantaytambo and Cusco. Then, she arranged the transportation service at a very reasonable cost for me for the following day. Everything just worked out perfectly through her arrangement and service. The hotel is only 1km away from the main train station and right next to the downtown of Ollantaytambo. The hotel provided great breakfast as well.

"Wonderful time, park around the corner!"
We had a wonderful time at this little hotel, the staff was the best, Lillian went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and then some. This hotel is right around the corner from the Park Ruins at Olly. What a find!! Can't say enough about the location and the service. The price was also good and as women traveling alone, we felt secure and happy here. Would go back in a heartbeat!
